Associate Underwriter

Truckers Insurance Associates, Inc. is looking for a detail-oriented and customer-friendly individual looking to start a career in Underwriting working in our West Des Moines office.

Responsibilities include rating and underwriting of commercial auto policies, mid-term endorsements, and customer service. The position involves extensive contact with agent customers.

A Day in the Life as an Associate Underwriter:

Retail agents will contact you via phone or email and depend on you to quickly and reliably make changes to existing commercial auto insurance policies per established underwriting guidelines and procedures. You work within a team structure that encourages collaboration and creativity to satisfy our agent customer’s needs.

Requirements include:

4-year college degree in a relevant field.
Willingness to obtain a Commercial/Personal Lines Insurance Agent license.
Ability to prioritize multiple duties and organize data to enable timely underwriting decisions.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Prior Insurance experience is preferred.

Compensation: $45,000 – $55,000/annually, depending on prior experience.
